Huttser trotted around a valley of the territory he wanted to claim. He wanted to be the leader of the MacDuff clan. He was Huttser MacDuff, and he had the right to this land. He only needed Faolan, the cheiftan of the MacDuncan pack, he only needed Faolan's permission. He was here to claim this land, here to ask for Faolan's permission, he was ready to do that here and now. He wanted to be a cheiftan, and he knew he was ready to be a leader. His father, Branos MacDuff had told him that he was worthy, and Branos MacDuff had been the earlier cheiftan of the MacDuff clan, and so now Huttser had a family right to the land. His father had trained him for this. Huttser was as ready as he would ever be.
